We did it!

"We are the stories we tell ourselves about ourselves. While we can't rewrite history, we can alter our interpretation of it and uncover the good."

Where the Light Gets In

What a week. Someone pinch us.

Following the Melbourne launch, we hit the road for the Where the Light Gets In book tour - starting with an important pit stop at Fairhaven. Where it all began.

"This is a full circle moment for me," Crowey shared with us all.

"The book starts in Fairhaven, the book was written in Fairhaven, and the bookshop that inspired not only me, but also Sally and my three boys to read is, of course, in Fairhaven. So to launch 'Where the Light Gets In' for Great Escape Books and the beautiful Nicole Maher at Fairhaven SLSC felt magical.

A special thanks to the Fairhaven community and my good mates Hugh van Cuylenburg and Marty Maher for making the day so special. And a shout out to all the little country and coastal bookshops who help us to dream."

Then it was on to Sydney, and an epic evening with the incredible Melissa Doyle, chatting about the many life lessons and stories that have shaped the book, and our work at Mojo Crowe.

Contrary to popular opinion, it's not a competition here between Melbourne and Sydney 😉 But Sydney, you certainly brought your A-game on Wednesday night. The room was electric, playful, and curious, and we felt so lucky to have the chance to meet so many of you.

Among the highlights of the week - a special shoutout goes to some young members of the Mojo community, reminding us how important it is to share these principles with the next generation. We can't wait to hear your thoughts on the book!

Where the Light Gets In is now out in the world.

It's both exciting and surreal to know it's sitting on bedside tables, being read on planes, getting dog-eared (/devoured 😆 🐶 ) or highlighted and passed between friends.

Which brings us to what we want to talk about this week.

When Crowey works with someone for the first time, he usually asks them to tell their story, starting from wherever they choose. Whatever comes next marks the beginning of their journey to finding their way. It's often a series of conversations, explorations, memories, tears, setbacks, and breakthroughs. Along the way, they discover a universal truth:

"We are the stories we tell ourselves about ourselves. And while we can't rewrite history, we can alter our interpretation of it and uncover the good.
We can see the flickering. A new perspective" - Where the Light Gets In

The book follows a similar path. Each chapter has a problem to solve and a perspective to shift. It's not linear, because life isn't linear. It's about finding what works for you.

Crowey has always said that he'd love this book to be read many times over, hopefully with a highlighter or pen to mark the sections that offer useful reminders, wisdom or hope. And then, once we've learned the lessons, to pass it on to someone else who needs it.

So, over to you, readers. We'd love to know:

What's lighting up for you when reading Where the Light Gets In?

Grab your copy of the new book, find a page that's given you an a-ha moment, and share it with us - something that's shifted your perspective, reminded you of who you are, or perhaps helped you find new meaning in your story.

Highlight it. Underline it. Annotate it. Whatever takes your fancy!
